lol, how about that product tho? A small electric blower to make a phony blow off valve noise?! I guess people buy that stuff or it wouldn't be manufactured...

Well nothing exciting here as I have been swamped with work, but I've been daily driving the truck with the MAP ECU3 and the tune is on point. No check engine lights, no hiccups, no smells, nada. It drives like stock with a little bit more pep (Only running 4.3psi). Once I get some free time I will begin cutting and making the intercooler piping so I can turn the boost up and let it party a little more!

Means you've done good tuning then.

I just wish the Map-Ecu 3 could control the throttle, which would eliminate the speed limiter throttle close.

Which size injectors are you currently running, and plan on running?

Kirk I gotta know as I am interested in same kit. This kit was just bolt up and go? No mods to ecm and NO detonation? 4-5 boost is all I want!

The kit was as far to bolt on as any kit could go. I do not recommend it, its basically a box of cheap chinese parts in a box with a semi decent manifold.

So if I bought the manifold only, then good quality other parts I could run 5 pounds of boost with NO issues?

So... I will post more details tomorrow since I'm at dinner, but I got permission from my better half to go to the shop and finish my piping. Here's a shitty shot for now.

Okay, so the boss lady had plans yesterday so she gave me the blessing to go work on the truck since I've been putting it off for a few weeks. I started by cutting and making the room needed for the intercooler piping. From there I realized I needed to clock the turbo housing to properly route the cold side. While doing that I found that the wastegate arm has been binding up in the housing the entire time (typical china junk). Needless to say, each time I work on the truck I end up replacing more and more of that "kit".

    Binding up while opening
    [IMG]

So instead of wasting any time on trying to fix this chinese junk, I ended up scrapping it used a real OE Garrett GT28 housing that I had laying around.

    MUCH BETTER
    [IMG]

And as always, one things leads to another, the China T28 does not have the same bearing housing register as a GT28, so I ended up building myself a ball bearing GT2867R CHRA using the compressor wheel that came in the china turbo but everything else is real Garrett OE.

    This is now scrap metal
    [IMG]

My new GT2871R CHRA for the truck came together nicely:

    Awwww yisssssss!

NOW I was able to get to the fun part. Welding.

Finished cold pipe with TiAL BOV flange
    [IMG]

    Finished MAF pipe
    [IMG]

    Finished product

I was able to drive the truck home last night, but the factory ECU does not like the BOV venting to atmosphere. I might either try to move the MAF to the intercooler piping to run as a blow-through setup after the BOV, or just use a recirculating TiAL BOV instead and plumb back to the intake.

Next would be turning the boost up and adjusting my fuel injector size as necessary, have not figured out which ones to go with yet.

In short, don't bother buying that POS chinese kit unless you want to redo everything and have an understanding of how it all works. Majority of the parts have ended up in the trash can.

I just have one question... Who took this picture?!

lol, great work dude! It's a bummer that the only turbo kit out there for this motor is so crappy.

I use a selfie stick............. hahaha. My girl came by to feed me after she got her nails done. It ended up turning into an all-day affair after I found the issues with the turbo

lol, that's a good woman you got there, stoppin' by to feed you! Cool project, too!

Does it have significantly more power, like especially on the highway pulling up a long gradual hill?
