I got the idea from this post

    http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/6...-lights-anytime-05-tacoma-15.html#post2456780

This mod requires no cutting of wires, bending of relay terminal, is reversible, and requires only one piece of wire to reroute a connection.

The original mod moves the connection from #21 to #13. I originally did this mod but found out it has the side effect of turning on the lights hours after the engine is off. So I modified the connection by removing wire from the 2A junction box and connecting it to an IGN line.

Read the toyota nation instructions first.

    Here are the steps
    1. Open the engine compartment fuse box.
    2. Cut 4 plastic strips from old credit card. You will use this to hold the tabs holding the 2A junction block cover.
    3. Push the tab using a flathead screwdriver and insert the plastic strip to hold the tab out. Do this for all 4 tabs.
    4. Hold the 2A white connector firmly and firmly pull it out while wiggling it back and forth. It came out instantly on mine.
This is a picture showing the cover off and the strips I used.

    5. Next slide the panel holding the wires going to the three white connectors up and out. You can then unplug the three white connectors and move them out of the way.
    6. Remove the nut holding the positive terminal connector located in upper left corner of the fuse panel.
    7. Insert plastic strips to 6 tabs holding the fuse panel to the box. You can slide out the fuse panel easily once all 6 tabs are held by the plastic strips.

    8. Once the panel is out, tilt the panel until you can reach the wire to pin #21. Its center row, 5th from the right. Once you get a hold of the wire, use a small flathead screwdriver to push pin #21 connector from the top front side pushing in. The wire should come out the bottom.
If you find it difficult to tilt the fuse panel, release the white clips holding the two large wire harness on the bottom left and right of the fuse panel.
    9. You want to connect this wire from #21 to EB1 connector pin 3 (light green wire). I used a small gauge wire to connect the wire and just inserted the other end into EB1 pin 3.

That's it. Just put everything back together and you are done.

This mod basically disconnects pin#21 originally connected to headlight low beam power, to an IGN power source.

I checked my surveillance camera recording from last night, and did see the fog lights come on. I parked the truck at 10:30pm, the fog lights came on for 1 minute at 3:30am, then for 1 min at 6:30am, then for 10 seconds at 8am. I'll switch off the fog lights for now when I park till I find another place to move the wire to.

I rerouted the #21 wire connection from #13 in junction box 2A to EB1 pin 3, which is an ignition power source in order to avoid having the light come on after engine is turned off.

Hey OP, or anyone else who may know, I am trying to do this now, but what's the secret to pulling the wire from pin #21? I've gotten to this point with no real problems, but can't figure this one out. I know this is an old thread, but I've tried looking at other threads doing the same thing, and can't kind exactly how to remove the wire.

Edit: Never mind! haha got it.. you're supposed to move the plastic, not the metal...
