I have no idea what this little hellion is on but she goes absolutely bezerk.... flying across the room, attacking imaginary mice, looking up at the wall like something is there.... weird meows, clawing between the couch cushions like something is in there...

What in sweet baby jesus is going on with her?

Nope. We bought some and she doesn't like it, so we put it up.
She is what is called a Russian Blue.

If you are new to cats this may seem crazy, but in the 40 years I've had cats as pets (you'll realize eventually that they are awesome) I've found that most have the late-night freak out tendency. I see it as pure entertainment and something I often even encourage.

On a real note, my cat does the same thing. She'll run back and forth, stick her hands under sheets and the bathmat, and attack the blinds rod. In the wild they hunt at night so..

    They're called "zoomies"

Yup totally normal. My car runs around late at night too. He's slowed down a lot as he's gotten older, but that is when they are active and they'll sleep most of the day.

We just close the bedroom door at night - so he can freak out all over the place downstairs, but doesn't bother us. Good luck! Cats are great. Just takes some getting used to their habits.

They’re nocturnal and more active at night. Ours lay around all day sleeping. Then chase each other and play at night.

We used to have a Russian Blue and he never did that though.

The 'kitten phase' as my husband and I call it.. We both had cats (his lived to 22, mine to 18) and they bounced off the walls from the ages of 6mo to 6 years or so before they chilled tf out. We had a kitty door and they were both outdoor cats. My friends with indoor cats described theirs being more mental, I'd go crazy too if I was stuck inside all day with those types of predatory instincts.. o_O

It's kinda spooky I must say. She is looking up in nowhere la la land and meowing like something is going to attack her...
Her tail gets all fluffed up and hair on her back is straight up...
I don't want to say it's ghosts, but its ghosts!

Ill have to record it and post the results here.

It’s a cat. My guess its a indoor only cat? Needs more exercise.

The wife bought her a harness and a leash for outside. She is afraid of letting her out and her not coming back.
We also have a few massive hawks in our neighborhood that like to snatch small dogs and cats. Funny not funny.
