    I found this "thing" in the glove compartment of my 2007 when I bought it. For the life of me I can't figure out what it is, or what it could possibly be used for.... Anyone?

    It's for splined lug nuts. Previous owner probably had wheels that couldn't use stock lug nuts. Lug centric as opposed to hub centric. Some lug centric wheels use nuts that fit deep into the wheel, so a conventional socket won't fit. A slim socket, as the one you are showing is used.

    The 2 different sized 'bolt heads' at the top of the socket are just for multiple fitment options.
