Hey JW where in Idaho are you? I was in Jackson hole Wyoming last week and drove through Idaho to get to the salt lake city airport. I thought about sending you a pm but figured you're farther north.

Thanks, I will get some better video one of these days.

Buddy of mine bent this piece of tube for me, he is building a buggy and this is what he is using for the cage it seems pretty stout. My plan is just hoop off of the transmission crossmember to give the tacobox a crossmember to provide it with some support/bracing the hoop will be small and gusseted with the 4xinnovations mount on it. It should all be pretty low profile and work with the ATO skids.

Stayed pretty busy this weekend installing a Donaldson prefilter on the snorkel there were some modifications involved to make it fit.

The inlet is 3" on the prefilter and the snorkel for the Tacoma is 3 1/2" on the inlet so you end having to fit the prefilter inside the snorkel which required cutting 4 slits and grinding the inside of the snorkel to make it all fit. Since all the modifications are to the inside of the snorkel intake the ram air style inlet will fit as well so I can still run it when I choose.

Snorkel intake outer diam. is 3.5" inner diameter is smaller than 3" so material was removed to make it work.

    Prefilter 3"

This is what I used to cut the 4 slits and grind out the snorkel body.

I also worked fitting the rest of the ATO skids the rear skid is longer than normal to accomodate the 8 1/2" that the crawler adds to the drivetrain. I had to notch the crossmember for the skids and one of the mounts for the sliders to make it all work.

I also worked on the mount for the crawlbox that is why I needed to fit the skids to check clearances hopefully I will finish that up next weekend.

Thanks, Gylar started a thread about a snorkel cover and Pugga posted a link to the prefilter....so I was just the guinea pig to try it out.

    Thank you

I like the way the ATO skids fit compared to the Budbuilts I had. Kevin makes a good product and he was willing to do something different to accomodate the crawler so it has worked out to this point. I will have to pull the mid and tail skid to finish up my crossmember next weekend.

Thanks, I could see the book report now: guy gets Tacoma cuts it up and beats on it with a hammer alot....

My mower has a similar centrifigal precleaner on it and it does a good job. Sometimes you can hear the blades spinning and it makes a whisking noise, it's pretty neat.

Do you have the link to the thread about that filter? I always worry about the possibility of an angry ex gf pouring something into my snorkel.. that pre filter looks like it would be the perfect solution.
