Take it to discount tire. Get a second opinion. Those service writers at your dealer like to bend the truth. Personal experience.

If not on the sidewall it can be patched. Find a smaller local tire shop who will patch the tire. If a no go on that then look on ebay or dtd direct.

Take it to a dedicated tire shop. I've had the dealership try the same thing on the Prius. Took it to a local tire shop and they scoffed and laughed for a minute before charging me 20 bucks to patch it with a 30 day warranty

Post a picture of where the nail is located. Repair shops are beyond ridiculous now with what they won't patch. They claim liability, but the reality is it is easier to sell a new tire.

I had our local dealer tell my wife a tire was not repairable. I told her not to do anything. Took it to discount tire and they patched it for free. I said what do I owe ya? He says, just come see me when you need a new set of tires. That’s good business.

Swap the spare tire over and put a cheaper tire on the spare wheel. :notsure:
If it's close to the sidewall (i.e. within the radius of the patch, it can't be patched safety).

Put the spare on, get the nail hole patched, and save the $310 for two real tires.

stuff online is always cheaper when you have little overhead and a lot less employees and a large storefront you need to cover. Why do you think so many small and local businesses are going out of business. Of course you can get shit a lot cheaper online and you’ll always pay a premium at a dealership.

$310 for a tire sounds like they want to rip you for a tire as well as charge you for labor. Just go to a local tire store.

I had 2 nail episodes in the first 2k miles with the OEM Goodyears on my '17 OR TRD. My road home is notably nasty, but this was something I hadn't experienced for a long time. On the BFG E-Range KO 2's I have had no nails stick in 15k miles, nor on the KO 2's on my previous 2012 OR, or on the several sets of Michelins on my wife's GLK.
Life is too short for junk tires.

    Big O carries that same tire for 198 + 40 mount/balance + tax. Way under $310.

I was thinking along the lines of a pro rated warranty. The tire info card should be in the glovebox and that would explain everything
