Don't know that I can get the time off anyway... Good luck on this venture though, sounds like it will be a blast for those that do.

this is definitely gonna be a difficult event to pull off thats for sure. if we actually make this happen i agree that it should be as centrally located as possible to at least attempt to keep it fair for everyone. yes this means that it would make the drive to long for some people but no matter where you hold it that will be the case. at the moment i'm not going to vote being as though i dont have enough information about all the locations. has anyone looked into all the different aspects of each location? such as available wheeling, gathering places, other events for the non wheeling crowd????? i think we need to cover all these bases before we go voting on a place that may not even suit us.... and yes i think we should make sure that wherever it is its a good spot for the whole family!

I would love for this to be in the Dallas area but there are not very many places to wheel around here and that is a very popular request for the location that is chosen. If someone has knowledge about the locations please post it. There has already been some great info for KC in the previous thread and I also posted some ideas for several national parks and Mount Rushmore for Grand Rapids, SD.

Sure, I'd love to have it in the DFW area. I'd only have to drive 3 hours. But that wouldn't be fair to the people in the NW and NE corners.

Yeah I get it. The middle of the country is far. But it's also fair for a good majority of the members here.

I'm not driving to Phoenix or Florida or California or Maine or Washington. That's not fair.

And this isn't directed at you, Tex. I know you just took the most popular that had been mentioned. I hope other people who know of some kickass campground in Peru just keep it to themselves and try to think of a spot that's a somewhat equal distance for the majority.

    Rant over.

how about narrowing it down to 5 locations.... we can nominate the same way we do for TOTM... list your top 3 locations and why/what all is there to do

after a specific deadline, votes will be tallied and the top 5 locations will be put up for a vote

debating back and forth why one location is better than another will change as many minds as a political thread...

so... lets start a TOTM-like thread now and let it go on for a month or two

Sounds like a plan to me. If you all do it right you could have one every year in a different region so that everyone has a chance to go to a meet. I am going to be in Germany for the next five years and am actually looking forward to meeting up with members over there.
