Debating on sliders. Not sure if I want weld on or bolt on. I like that the bolt ons can be removed but the weld on are a metric fuck ton cheaper

Not sure why you'd ever take them off. I would say weld on is a better because it's cheaper and stronger. Bolt ons you have to add the cost of a couple of big ass drill bits into the equation too, and they are about $20 a pop. I've welded a pair of sliders on another truck that were cut off from a previous weld on job, so u can def cut them off and reuse them if you decide to go that route.

Great point! Plus the money savings will pay for a nice chunk of my new roof rack!

There are no drill bolt ons now....

I don't want metal removed from my frame when i have to grind/cut sliders off.

Yeah if I would have known I would have gotten weld on from the beginning but I was afraid I might need to remove mine as well. 4 years later and the bolts haven't been touched lol.

But how much do those cost compare to a 4x weld on DOM slider?

You leave the mount on the frame just cut the "leg" flush with the mount and then your frame still has 1/4" thicker metal than it came from the factory ;)

Yeah when we rewelded Mike's (cynicalrider) sliders on, he cut them off of a wrecked tacoma at the tubes and we sleeved the legs and made new mounting plates and gussets for them. So you can definitely "resell" weld on sliders granted you won't get as good of a price for bolt ons but it is possible.

I'm gonna go weld ons. And if I lived anywhere near BPF I'd certainly pay him to handle the install! As it stands, a 5 hour each way trip for install is kinda out and my uncle can weld incredibly! He'll be able to burn em on in no time!
