Yea makes sense I guess. I think I might have used electrical tape now that I think about it. I'll have to check to make sure.

Since you have a 2011, Look under the fuse box cover and locate the AC relay. then finally the 1st post.

Still have some piggyback terminals if anyone needs them. Just ask that you send me a few bucks (2-3) to help cover shipping

It basically allows you to do this mod without bending or trying to cut a terminal.

that red/black wire is on a empty slot, it doesn't contact the relay. .. i didn't want to cut the wire, so i depin the connector and moved to a empty slot.

Can you please elaborate on this? I am about to do this mod but I think I would prefer to pull the power from a constant 12v source instead of messing with the inverter relay. Is there any other downside to using a constant 12V source other than the possibility of accidently leaving the fog light switch on? As long as the fog light switch is off there wouldnt be any battery drain correct?

correct. if you were to have it switched via a constant 12v source then you could turn the fogs on any time regardless of key position. You set yourself up for potentially leaving them on and draining your battery. So long as you have the switch in the cab turned off and the lights are off there is no extra draw.

I personally wouldnt recommend doing it this way but you most certainly can.

thanks for the quick reply, I plan on only using the fog lights at night so I dont think I would accidentally leave them on. If that comes back to bite me I'll say i should have listened to you:rofl:
How would I "Simply run two wires out of the middle relay pin socket as thats a constant 12v" as you previously told someone else? When I make the extension what would go to what?

so in my original post. the white wire instead of being a single male to single female as a standard extension. Do a single male to two female connector Y extension. Run one of the female plugs as a standard pin to pin extension to the foglight relay, then the other extra female plugs to where the brown wire goes to on the foglight relay.

The center pin of the foglight relay is the constant 12v hot directly from the battery splitting it to the hot side of the actual relay switch will allow you to hit the dash switch at any time and fire the relay.

Im 98% sure the center pin (white wire) is the constant hot, try that first, if it doesnt work move it to the yellow wire spot within the actual socket. (or use a volt meeter and do a quick probe to see which one is the always hot)

Ok thanks I think i got it. So I will have a single connection to the center pin with the white wire which then branches off into 2 white wires? One goes to the relay as shown in the original post and the other goes next to the green wire where the original post has a brown wire? I will have no brown wire. Does this sound right or am I confused? I appreciate all of the help
