Back on my THIRD Tacoma and couldn't be happier. This time around I will be making my Tacoma much more practical since I have to drive downtown every day for work. Going for a clean and functional look with utility for my many hobbies (surfing, fishing, hunting, etc.). Using this thread primarily to keep track of everything I've done to my truck and follow my progress.

    Truck:
    • 2014 Tacoma 4x4 DCSB
    • TRD Sport Package
    • Tow Package

    Mods:
    Future:

1/31/2015 - Met up with a fellow TW member to swap my stock TRD wheels for these 17x8 -10 offset Level 8 MK6 gunmetal wheels. So stoked how good they turned out. Thanks Marc!

What's going on in the picture with you wheels off? It looks like your truck is floating....

    Notice what's under the axles...

    BHLM............

1/24/2015 - Immediately added Weathertechs, AntennaX (so it would stop hitting my parking garage at work every morning!). Also, finally sacked up and did the BHLM again, I love it and it turned out great (2nd time doing this mod). Black satin ftw. Getting the headlights out are a huge PIA compared to the earlier 2nd gen models. That third screw is hateful...

    Removing everything...

    Almost done...

    Done!...

I see the jacks now they just look like they're behind the truck.

Thanks! No lift, stock suspension and stock tires at the moment. Will be getting Terra Grapplers once these run down. :D

2/1/2015 - Finally got a chance this weekend to install MattGecko's bed light LEDs! Super happy how well they turned out. Install was NOT as hard as I initially thought. Matt provided well advised instructions complete with pictures, would highly recommend to anyone. Super clean install and took my time. Had a buddy help, this definitely would have taken longer without some help. Can't wait to use on those early morning fishing trips and hunting adventures! :D

Thanks to MattGecko for the helpful instructions and materials! Love it. Bed lights installed!

And it arrived... At my door in two days from ordering at Truck Alterations with Luke. Very satisfied with the purchase. So easy to install. Did the washer mod for the front clamps, much easier. Pretty water tight. The seams and seals fit perfectly.

Truck looks great! Does your tires rub at all with the -12 offset and no lift? I'm thinking about the same rims.

Thanks! -10 offset and no rub at all. I still have the stock tires on though too. Gonna move up to the 265/70/17 once these stocks wear out. Essentially 32"s.

I think the center caps make the wheel :D

That is a great question I'm sure every Tacoma owner has asked... Definitely recommend, especially if you have a tonneau. I have the Solid Fold so you really can't access the bed of my truck when it's locked. Mainly to keep my surfboards/wetsuits out of sight and out of mind when I'm away from my truck.

Been experiencing some difficulties lately with the Pop&Lock... When tailgate is fully closed I have to push/pull the tailgate a little to wiggle the lock open... Not sure if its a connection issue or what. Probably going to take everything apart again and look around, might just replace back with stock. Pop&Lock handle just seems kind of cheap and like it is going to break every time I open it :|

Clean after an unsuccessful fishing trip today. Came back and truck was covered in pollen, worst part about spring.

I have been reading a lot of issues with the current pop n locks and it frustrates me as there really isn't any other options do our trucks!

Ya, but of course you usually only hear people when they have issues regarding them... I just double checked all my connections after the small issue I was having and everything seems to work fine now. The handle part is what concerns me the most as it is definitely not as strong as the OEM handle. I feel like I'm going to break it sometimes...

Still happy with it for now though. I kept my OEM handle if I ever want/need to switch back.
