This is the replacement truck for my 97 frame rot truck. Need to get a game plan for mods!
I have a 2001 Extra cab that has the cd option and no pocket under the radio. I have a head unit and want to find a factory radio pocket. I am sure any 1st gen pocket would work. My rusty frame 97 that Toyota crushed had it... too bad I didn't think to grab it.

Let me know what you have... Thanks in advance

Right... that is what I have, a stock double din setup... my problem is that I have a single din aftermarket stereo and if I install it there will be a opening I need to fill. Some trucks came with single din radio and a pocket below... I want that factory pocket.

i know ive seen pockets around online for about $10. i believe scoshe makes one

also, you can get the whole dash installation kit for about $20. I'm about to do this too. Just go to your local autoparts store and tell them your year and make and theyll order you one.

I know you can get a kit I just thought a stock pocket would be a better option... I am not a fan of the aftermarket plastic... might have to get one anyway if nobody has a stock pocket sitting around... Thanks

I have a 2001 also that had the oem double din. I put in a single din and used the "toyota pocket" kit made by metra. I think it's pretty nice. I had a 1999 tacoma w/ single din and oem pocket before. You can't really tell the difference between the OEM and metra...it looks good to me.
