I'm not sure if things may have changed since the frame was replaced on mine in 2015. But back then they also replaced the lower control arms and a couple of brake lines free of charge in my 06 regular cab...

They include brake and fuel lines in the frame, lower control arms with new bushings and ball joint, leaf springs and u-bolts, and spare tire chain. I'm not sure if they include new parking brake cable.

    Hey Guys,
Got my truck back a few days ago after frame replacement. After one day it started making some bumping noises.
Took it back to the dealer this morning and he retightened all the body bushings. Drives like a new truck now.
Good for another 200,000 miles! Thanks to everyone for their advice!

My frame replacement was just ordered by the dealership, should be going in in the next three-four weeks.

OP anything you wish you would’ve added while they were replacing, or anything specifically that you’re glad they did? New lines and lower control arms are part of it?

I got everything done in the original post plus radiator hoses, and heater hoses. The frame comes with new brake and fuel lines in the frame,
new leaf springs and u-bolts, new lower control arms with new bushings and ball joints, and a new chain to hold the spare tire. I got everything
I wanted on there. It steers like a new truck. Front end is tight.

Be aware that they have an ancillary parts list that includes bolts and bushings etc. that fall apart when they disassemble it. Toyota will cover all that stuff. My dealer didn't try to charge me for those parts but I've seen where some dealers have tried to charge people.
Look up ancillary parts list for tacoma frame replacement and you'll find the list of parts they cover.

Best of luck to you. If you have any more questions put them in this post and I'll try to answer them.

My dealer recommended the needle bearing be replaced on my 06 when I had my frame done. It was original and a good idea for preventative maintenance. Looking back...I'm glad I had it done.

Needle bearing, cv’s, and steering rack are on the list. I guess what I should be asking is if there’s anything that labor wouldn’t be cheaper, or quicker, on while it’s torn apart?

I don't plan on lifting my truck but the mechanic who did mine said he wouldn't replace the cv's or the steering rack unless there was an issue.

Ive got a 2012 Dbl cab 72k miles. Haven't replaced much of anything, and never took it to a dealer.

A few weeks ago I threw a 'check engine light' and a 'traction control light'. Pulled the code and found some luck on here claiming it could be emissions related and may be covered. I took it to the local dealer. It was fully covered under 8year/80k mile warranty on emissions as well as a recall. It was the air pump and switching valves. While there they ordered me the frame treatment kit being offered, since my frame deemed it was time. After bringing it back in a week later to have the frame treated, they found a hole. They ordered the new frame, with it being delivered in a few more weeks. Said it should at bare minimum have hardware, brake lines, etc. Service manager said I should be able to get any new parts I would like, or the service tech find are needed at cost, with either no/low labour costs for most things.

Wondering at this stage, which parts on a 2012 with 72k miles should I start replacing, or upgrading.

    Thanks!

Hey 2012 - The only thing I would replace if I was you at 72K would maybe be the shocks. I replaced a lot of parts on mine
but I also had 268K. I think you would be wasting money replacing stuff at this point. Good luck to you on your frame.

Thanks! an upgrade on shocks is a smart thing to do. Was thinking of maybe doing a decent/non bank breaking all around suspension/lift upgrade.

If that's what you want you've got the oppurtunity right now. Go for it.
