    I was also talking about this, not just the u-joints. The new Tacomas (or any newer truck it seems) don't have a zerk on the drive shaft where it slips together (the slip yoke) with the rest of the shaft going to the rear end. The old Toyotas had a zerk for the slip yoke. I guess they needed to cut costs. :rolleyes: On my last Tacoma I cut the steel bands off the rubber boot on the driveshaft and lubed that connection. Pulled the rear of the driveshaft off the rear end to slip it apart, then lubed. Put it back together with zip ties and kept an eye on it regularly. Never had a problem. It helped with a clunk I had. Then I just ended up getting a one piece driveshaft and the problem was solved. Maybe it will work for you. :cool:

    Thanks for explaining, I was wondering about this very thing, but i also think that my saggy leaf springs may also be contributing to my clunk. I might look into replacing the leafs before too long. Thanks.:)
