I am looking to buy a used tacoma. Seller states that the right front was involved in a low speed collision. Just by looking at this picture, is it gonna be an expensive repair or just a minor trip to the body shop? Thanks.

That depends on if you want to pay for the cheapest fix possible (non-certified replacement corner lens, headlight housing), paper-thin sheet metal aftermarket replacements and such.

Also will depend on if the inner fender was damaged or core support and such.

Since you're asking, it seems that you will likely won't do the work yourself and you won't be scouring junkyards for parts for the cheapest price.

Expect to pay a body shop upwards of $1000 to fix this.

That is at least $2500 in damage if you take it to a shop. I worked at a body shop for a long time. Door and hood will need to be blended. Possible damage to the door also. Silver and white are the hardest colors to match

Thanks for the advice... Is that spot has any important components that should be checked inside as well? Or is it mostly cosmetic? I will probably look elsewhere.

Only thing I remember is the lower antenna mast. If seller knocked 2k off the price I might think about it

It's hard to tell from the picture but it looks like whatever he hit might have also hit the tire/wheel. I'd check the suspension/wheel bearing/etc on that side as well.

Depends on how good you want it to look. I had a similar run in with my wife Corolla, just fender damage and that ate up my $500 deductible real fast. IIRC, it was over a grand.

That's all pretty cosmetic stuff, and you could do most of the work your self for a few hundred (fenders are pretty easy to replace). If you find one already painted that color, that's even better.

But 5500 for a 5-lug with front end damage is pretty steep... I'd ask for at least a grand off...

    Bumper, and control arms?

    nah

Doesn't even look like the bumper was hit. just a little tap to the fender/corner light.

An insurance job would probably throw all that stuff on there, but I doubt it's actually necessary.
