Thanks I figured that was just so you could throw the oem ones in if you wanted. I already got my polks despite not listening to them..risky i know but I have a friend I can sell them to if I don't like em.

You won't be disappointed. Did you buy from crutchfield? If so then part of the install package they should sent you should have connectors so that you don't have to cut and splice into the lines and retain the factory harness so that it's much easier to go back to stock if you ever wanted to.

Got it all put in today and I'm very happy with everything. The wires coming from (not behind) the harness were just positive and negative wires so I didn't really have to splice and solder in new ones, I just cut and soldered the ones coming from the harness. Had to space out the speakers with cut up baffles since they wouldn't fit all the way in there but I'm not worried about that. I did break a lot of clips on my first panel. I take it I can get those at the dealership? Also is there a special tool I can get those out with next time? I think I want to upgrade the rears now since they rattle like crazy but I don't wanna spend another hundred bones and I've read that the rear isn't that important. I just can't stand the rattling. What would happen if I just took them out?

Great! You can usually buy clips at the dealer or just your local auto parts store, walmart, hardware store usually $5 for a pack of 20. I use a flat bar that I have in my toolbox. I run only my front speakers it give sort of a front stage affect you can just fade your speakers all the way forward and leave it so that you don't have to spend an hour pulling plastic and speakers.

Alright I'm able to get a really good deal on some pioneer TS-A6874R speakers. Would it be worth it to put these in the rear so I can fine tune my audio versus just fading most of my music to the front? Also able to get a TS-SWX251 10" enclosed sub for a retardedly cheap amount of money. Don't know if it'll fit though.

I'm gonna bump this one more time just because I'm a noob to car audio but....wtf is the purpose of the taped on rings on the front side of the speakers? I didn't put them on when I installed them just because I don't know what they are and since they were taped I figured they were meant to come off
