Instrument cluster and climate control , gear selector indicator modification.(Blue LED)
I did a instrument cluster light modification today with blue LED, it looks great. However I managed to screw up my climate control faceplate by trying to scratch the orange off in the back so they would light up blue. Was wondering if anybody knew where to get and aftermarket climate control faceplate with clear plastic on the back so they light up blue?

Gotta try either E bay or the local parts recycler and it has to come out of a 4Runner. I got my out of 02 4Runner. No orange behind it. And the LED's you'll need are these.

Since out of a 02 4runner I bet any 96-02 4 runner plate would work. Maybe make it easier to find one.

So your saying for the climate control plate it vary's between the 96-02 4runner's? Or the 2002 is the only year that will work for 01-04 tacoma?

Like tacos there were 3 different ones used. Starting with all sliding levers to half levers half knobs to all knobs on newest. i dont know exact years for 4runners.

I guess I should have added I have a 2003 Toyota Tacoma, I have three round knobs in a line with my AC button above the first and the middle knob and my vent button sitting above the Center knob and the end knob looking at this from left to right for my climate controls

Ya you have the 01-04 hvac set-up. From the little reading I just did I think the 4runner hvac from 01-02 will work. I believe Toyota went to the knob style in the 4runner in 01.

Ya your not the first to post about trying to scrape off the orange on the panel. Quite a few guys have upgraded to the 4runner panel that @Sicyota04 posted.

I guess the question is did they feel as stupid as I did when I realized that I trashed a $40 piece of plastic in a matter of 30 seconds? LOL
