Just got my Metra TYIP-01 ipod adapter from metra. I went to install it and cannot seem to get it to work. the male plug goes into the open slot in the back of the radio but it doesnt click/lock into place. Then there is a female plug that I dont know where to put. I tried with just the male plug in and it would not work. I included some pictures, so maybe someone can help me out. These pics are taken from behind the radio on the dash side looking back into the cab.
    Thanks, A.J.

I dont think you use the female plug unless you have a external CD changer. Everything else you say sound like its hooked up right. Hit the CD button on the radio twice to change it from CD to iPod

Just tried it again. It says on the ipod screen that it is connected but when i push disc it just stays on the CD thats playing. One thing that worries me is that the plug will not click into place.

mine did not click into place either. i don't know why it's not working if the ipod is showing it's connected. hitting disc twice should show CD1 on the radio as if it was a changer and you're on disc 1.
    sorry, i was no help

I dont have the jbl. The male plug should go in he only open slot in the back of the radio. The female plug doesnt plug into anything. Make sure the black 3.5mm chord, which is on the left side of the radio is plugged in when you test it. I think that might have had something to do with it not working. The male plug will not click into place but just push as hard as you can on it and it should stay.

hey rolltide, does the TYIP-01 also have an aux input? been reading sites and most only talk about iPod input. i want to play from my other .mp3 players including blackberry that has a standard aux out.
