She doesn't ask me to, that's why I plan on keeping her around :D

She will give me hell and pick around about it, but she loves it just as much. She is usually riding shotgun when we go wheeling and camping

Just for shits and giggles, everything through trail-gear (front and rear kit) minus the axle/gears/lockers came out to $3295 + shipping. The shop that I would be getting it done at is setup as a dealer so I may be able to get it a little bit cheaper. Granted there would be the added cost of axle, gears, lockers, transfer case adapter, gears for that, drive shift work... So I'm getting into the $6000 range.

It is all still in the air as of right now, but I finally got a price on the 82... When we first talked he told me $3000, well I don't think he is wanting to sell it anymore lol now he's talking $5000 and it needs some nit pick things. I may end up going SAS and I may end up just getting a play toy. For now just sitting back along for the ride

This is true, I am going to keep it low, only do the 3in springs and run either a tall 33 or 35's. My tires now are ok, and by the time I would be done and had sold all my IFS stuff I should be good to get some Kevlars

    http://www.trail-gear.com/tacoma-lift-kits

The $3200 covered the SAS kit B, which had all the things that weren't covered in Kit A, and the rear lift.

It's going to happen... pulled the trigger just a few minutes ago. I trade a my Remington 700 7mag for a 82 front axle, 23 spline case, a front shaft + $500 . Still going to be a while before anything else gets ordered, just jumped at a chance to get started

Had I known about all the BS it takes to get a 3"-4" lift out of an IFS'd 4x, & given the resources or choice all that IFS shit would be on the curb waiting for a freebie craigslister to pick up.

I reckon you get a little better ride on road & handle speeds offroad better, but for strength & functionality ,ease of lifting, solid axle no question..

Well it will happen... it's going to be somewhere between $5500 and $7500 depending on a couple different variables. Unless something big comes up, I look to have everything together and the install to start in four to six months. Just going to take my time and try to get everything in order before jumping into it to keep it from being down any long than it has to be.

Yep, if he chooses the 82 toyota axle, he has to flip it over, tap new holes, rotate his knuckles 180 degrees and grind off all the old shit. Hope he knows that.
