I used a 7" u-bolt to secure the bracket during my first install. I had a bag failure that Air lift warrantied, so the bags and brackets are on my work bench now. I welded a 6" (flexible, bendable) rod the bolt you are referring to, and will see if it will allow me to feed it through the frame and into the hole. I am going to do this in morning, so will let you know, I think it will work.

I'm anxious to hear the result. I don't have a torch, but maybe I can use a u-bolt.
    Thanks

There is a gap on either side of the crossmember. You have to get a wrench through it and get the bolt in. I used a piece of masking tape to tape the bolt to the wrench to keep it on.

Thanks so much guys. The masking tape and end wrench worked for me. What a pita this was. Air Lift sent the wrong bottom brackets and left out the kit to connect the air lines, plus I had to enlarge the side holes of the top bracket. Air Lift was quick to correct the issues.
    Thanks again!!

How are the Air Lift bags working for you?

I didn't like them. Every time I needed to level a load, I had to have a compressor. My air tank wouldn't air them, neither would my foot pump. The on board air compressor was not in the budget. I returned them and went with helper springs. So far, so good.
