Installed the Supertop on my 2014 DCLB yesterday and installed the 3rd brake light today. I decided to add/reinforce what is in this thread. A few notes:

-The extra light is chintzy, as stated. Mounting mine to to bow was annoying. One of the screws passed right through the plastic. I kept tinkering and eventually got it to stay. It is fairly solid and after a little more time got it fairly level.

-I ran the wires to the driver's side and slipped them under the lining into the taillight inset (there was a small natural opening). I did my best to route the wires and secure them, but it still looks a bit cheap having exposed wires-- oh well; for now. I only ran the two I needed.

-I removed the driver's side taillight and found the green/red and black/white wires from the truck. I previously tested (9V battery) the 3rd light's wiring and found (black= (-), yellow= (+)solid light, red= (+)strobing light-- apparently they just use whatever wires are available). I spliced into the wires as described above (for me= black to black/white; yellow to green/red) and tested. It lit up only when I pressed the brake (I tested the headlights, parking lamp, turn signals, etc and these did not activate the light). Success.

-The wires on the 3rd light were not long enough to be attached once reinstalled so I had to extend the wires (on the 3rd light) and then made the splices (semi-)permanent with solder and electrical tape at all connections. I debated soldering but considering I had to lengthen the wires and had that 120V outlet on the bed of the truck just waiting to be used...I spent the extra 10 minutes.

-I put everything back together and the light at least looks good and works!

Can soneone clarify for me...the 3rd brake light only works when the brake is pressed...right?
