just do a search of 285-70-17. Bunch of threads on fitting 33" tires. But no need for a diff drop on the 2nd gen. Doesnt do anything helpful

it really depends on what 285's you get. A/T's probably won't have much trimming to do. M/T's gonna trim a bunch. Make sure your wheels have 4.5" backspacing or you might hit your UCA's and the cab mount w/ MT's. I'm running 285/70/17's M/T w/ 5100's @ 2.5 and the tsb in rear.

That's the only thing I had to trim was the fender liners in the front and rear of the front wheel wells. I didn't even touch any part of my bumper. They rub in one tiny spot when i'm at a certain degree turning but you turn past it and you're fine. With a/t''s, they wouldn't touch. You'll have zero issues on the rear. They only thing you'll have problems with is I believe a number of people have tried it with no success is that a 265 is the widest tire you can put on a stock rim. I haven't tried it personally so I can't answer 100% but i've seen a lot of people on here make that comment. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help guys, as it turned out the 285's ended up rubbing my cab mounts and I'm not about to trim those just for a tire so going to go ahead and put 265's on. But damn they looked good.

with the right rim you won't have to touch the cab mount. I didn't and i've got 285/70/17's with no spacers.

mine are set @ 2.5" and I'm running a 17" wheel with 4.5 backspacing. you could also set them @ 1.75 if you run 16" wheels as long as you use the 4.5 bs on the wheels.

you will have to trim a bit, may need to take off the front mudflaps, but its totally worth it. love my 285's!

I have 5100 at 2.5' in the front, no lift in the back at all. I had to do the cab mount chop and a lot of fender trimming to fit these, but I got it done...
I have Light Racing UCA's, 285/70r17 Duratracs, and 17' Ballistic Jesters -12 offset and 4.5' backspacing just for reference.
