need help with cd player install

95 4x4 stock

this is for my 95 single cab i bought the little kit to fill the space at the bottom and i took the factory brackets of the radio and put them on the cd player then bolted it in and the dash trim wouldnt fit around the cd player next the bolt that holds the cd player to the bracket hit the trim so i took it out and now the cd player is about a half inch low and i couldnt get any of the schoce kit to work how it said..... somebody help please
