Maybe double check your connections. I had to really clamp down on the spade connectors to keep the wires from wiggling around. Also i ziptied mine to the wiring up in there to keep the relay from flopping around and possibly disconnecting from anything.

I noticed that there are two pink wires, one seems to be thicker while the other one is thinner. I cut the thinner one and used that, should I have used the thicker pink wire?

As you can see thats the pink wire I used

Should I have cut and used this one? The one pictured here seems to be thicker and lighter pink.

Here's what I got so far

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks for the response Joneill03, I figured it out as noted in the post above. I had cut the thinner hot pink wire instead of the thicker lighter pink wire. Once I changed the two wires it worked like a charm! As everyone mentioned very easy mod once I figured out my mistake.

Ok guys, I Got my locker mod finished using this wiring technique. (THANK YOU 650H1 !!) All mechanical and electrical functions are operating correctly.

AS NOTED IN ABOVE POST BY 06taco!!!!

Makes use you use the correct pink wire (The lighter/larger pink) for those of us with this wiring set up. (I think it is the 6spd guys, not sure). The pics should make it easy to figure out.

Additional note: I am not sure why some of us require the DC relay (218) and other are perfectly fine with the AC relay (217).

My best guess (uneducated and blind, don't take my word) is that AUTOMATIC taco's can use the AC unit, while MANUAL taco's need the DC unit.

Best of luck to anyone else who try's this out!

I have a automatic so it's not a 6 speed thing. I think if I would have looked at the picture better I wouldn't have made that mistake but I didn't think there would be two pinks.

No big deal though, at least I was smart enough to leave some wire incase I ever wanted to wire it back to stock.

I snapped this pic when i was working on it to compare the wires with the ones in the write up. I only see one pink wire on mine. Unless the other is hidden. Maybe they changed wiring colors based on years?

I just tried this mod on my 2014, using the 275 218 relay from Radio Shack. So for I have tried every wiring configuration and still have no luck. If by any chance I did blow a fuse, does anyone know which fuse it is and where its located?

Well got this done, I hear the locker and relay engaging so no problem there but the locker light isn't lit up or the abs and vsc light. I did the abs kill switch which would light those up when I disable it but those lights aren't lighting up when just the locker switch is pushed. I triple checked wiring, should I not worry about it since I can override the abs anyways which i'lll probably have if I'm offroad anyways. Would be nice to have the computer show me that it knows the diff is locked without me audibly listening for it. Any thoughts?

    I followed this thread

^^ Nevermind guys, lights work. When I was just sitting there with the key in the on position I heard the relay and the locker engage but no lights, took it for a test drive and the lights lit up when I started to move and really feel the locker engage. Works like a champ, excited to use it offroad
