    If it were me, I'd put a resistor inline with the light. Either figure out the resistor value that you need with ohms law or put in resistors until you find the value that makes you happy.

    Keep reading in that thread past the paper filters, another member goes into detail about adjusting brightness via resistors...

    AMP Powerstep, UC Flex, bed lights, Opt7 Tailgate bar, black tailgate lettering Pending: re-configure tail light,s custom storage pocket bags, pinch weld painting, blackout badges, ......
    This could be don with spring clips or test leads.

    Just lay out your resistor selections on the floor, put the test leads on the IL line, then connect each resistor till you find the "sweet spot". Then pull the test leads and permanently attach the resistor.
