    hello all
I am new to the tacomaworld :bananadance: i have driven a 74 fj40 as my daily driver the past 8yrs but i have recently graduated and got a "real job" which requires more travel than i would like to put on my landcruiser.... Sooo i am in the market for a 05 or newer taco... i definately want 4 door, 4x4, and LB the question  i have is related to go with a trd (sport/offroad) packedge or not.... i ponder if i want to upgrade my suspension would i be throwing away the majority of add ons that come with the trd packedges...such as "sport tuned suspension" Yes the Hood scoop is cool but if thats all i would get out of the sport packedge then why not just by a plain jane 4x4 and personalize it myself with mods such as tires, wheels, suspension, sliders, etc... on my own. Any info is much appreciated.. One other thing is it possible to get the e locker with out a trd packedge?
    Thanks :rockband:

The e-locker only comes on the TRD Offroad package.

Sounds good - get yourself a plain jane 4X4 and upgrade it accordingly. You don't even need to get the TRD Offroad cuz you could put an ARB (for example) in if you wanted to. If you've got plans to regear anyway - an ARB or any other type of locker could be installed during the gear change.

If you're interested in an LSD rear diff (for daily driving/snow/etc) - you don't need to buy the TRD Sport to get that. The LSD's can be found in non TRD models.
