Cooper stt pro, best tire I've ever run. Same road noise as st maxx. But they work everywhere well. The st maxx are shit in the mud, gum up terrible. Ok in snow. Even when not deep. Plus they wear terrible. IME anyway. I'm running wildpeaks now and I like them. Great in snow and rain, grippy enough for everything else.

Just got the Nitto Ridge Grapplers installed last week. Amazing tire so far. I can barely hear them on the road. Also, they are offered in a C rated tire if you have 17s, which can help your gas mileage.

I would go with MICHELIN AT2 in the stock P metric Standard load size if its a Daily Driver, forget the others they will kill your MPGs and they ride like crap on the pavement

This isn't true. I've lost maybe 1-2MPG on mine and they ride fantastic. I've had no issues with the ride at all.

I am very much stuck between P rated tires or LT rated tires. My 265/70/17 KO2 LT tires dropped my MPGs by about 3mpg. I would like to go even taller to 33" or 34" but not sure if I should keep the LT tires and regear or switch back to P tires. Thoughts?

same size here. And I'm only ballparking the MPG hit based on city driving so far. No longer hwy trips until this coming weekend. I'm also v6 auto, AC

if u don't haul heavy and are concerned with the MPGs I would stick with P metric standard load as close to the Stock size tire for overall performance.

I think the lowest I got was 18.5-19 mpgs with them with winter fuel it dips bad. but they did weigh in at 38 lbs ? per tire so there probably was a loss due to few pounds of tire compared to the stock All seasons. im going thru the same similar thing now that ive got a new 4 banger auto whether to get a slightly heavier MICHELIN Defender tire or get a somewhat lower quality Firestone LE2 that's very light weight, weight really affects the 4 banger performance

The problem is she does get off road. Probably about 75/25 daily driving to off roading. And overall Id like to go bigger tires but there is a big weight difference between P and LT tires

the heavier weight LT E rated will kill the MPGs although they have a thicker carcass for offroad and hauling heavy crap. I would stick with Standard load tires if its prodominetly a Daily driver with weekend warrior offroad they can easily get it done.

Ya I tried to hit the middle ground going up only 1" in overall diameter and buying the C-rated LT tires but I still took a 2-3mpg hit. I was worried P-rated tires wouldn't survive a few off road trips

Can't recommend the new Cooper AT3 4S enough! No compromises - awesome wet / dry traction, rides like a touring tire on the highway, doesn't screw around when off the pavement. Hard for me to imagine a better all around tire...

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/cooper-discoverer-at3-4s-review.557727/page-9

And they won an aware for best new product at SEMA this year so there are others who clearly agree

If you are logging a lot of miles, AT3W hands down. I do 40k+ a year and they’ve been great, zero issues and I’ve got 43,xxx on this set and they are still going strong. They are quiet and have handled everything I’ve put them through without hesitation. If you get the SL rated, there will be no impact to mpg. The 265/75/16 come in both SL and E so you’ve got to pay attention when purchasing.

    - ICON UCAs, BP51/Kings, SCS wheels, 285 KO2s, Leer 100XR canopy. Greenlane aluminum winch bumper, Smittybilt X20 winch.
The AT3 is a great tire for the highway, but it’s also rated really high in offroad tests. Climbing rock, drifting on gravel roads, it also did great in tests.
I have KO2s and they are a great all round tire, I’ve been in some good mud spots and had no problems. Probably depends on the type of mud in your area. Clay vs goop

I absolutely love mine. Great on dry/wet road and very good off-road.
