I also run the Toyos. I do the vast majority of my driving on the highway to and from work and they've been great. The few times I've gone offroad they've held up nicely as well. Hopefully when overtime goes down and I finish with my house I'll actually have some free time!

Maxx Powell did a review on them after putting 10k miles on them back in June.

if you are going to go with falken's I would also suggest the COOPER AT3 S4's, a couple bucks more and ride incredible with great traction on and off road, just put them on mine about 3 weeks ago, they were 125 a piece on Amazon. 265-75/16's also weigh around 44 pounds each

The lack of siping on the Coopers was a problem for me. We get heavy downpours during the summer monsoon in New Mexico, and siped tires are necessary. The Cooper STTs look like they would be better in mud than the KO2s, however.

you answered your own question right here. toyo m/ts should be on the top of your list. a/t tires are for mall crawlers and sissys that never see mud.

Not sure if this pic helps or not. The side wall is not as large as the XLT. I just put them on a week ago, and I don't have much to add to the MPG conversation. I went LT because I have a boat I pull around from time to time.

This is why I went with Cooper ST Maxx. They are rock solid in the rain.

Been running the Ridge Grapplers for a month, putting as many miles on trail as pavement. Very little road noise, with just a little hum on some fresh asphalt. A month isn't much time for an authoritative review, but I'm happy with the purchase to date.
Running @ 30 PSI and not bothering to air up and down.

This is the first time I've ever heard of Ko2's wearing out fast. Not doubting just curious on what other factors are at play?

Yes they do. Mind you, K02 also sports the Mountain Snowflake symbol and those are :eek::eek: in the snow. Honestly I’ve lost faith in that rating based on K02.

that's exactly why I rec the MICHELIN AT2 I had them in P metric stock size they are an excellent tire for ur needs, I had them for 15% offroad and 85% onroad/daily driver, excellent handling on the highway and still has a good enough tread and sidewall, traction for minimal offroad and a small or non existent hit in mpgs. I loved them on my TRD 2004. and they are moderately priced compared to the MICHELIN Defenders an all season tire.

OP - I got the KO2's 265-70R17 load "C" and so far love them. If it matters, my MPG's have certainly suffered from the OEM Toyos. They were pricey, but I am pleased so far.

Yah, I get that. That’s why I went with skinnies for the snow and ice

even some of these tire rating systems and reviews Im skeptical about, I bought a few tires based on reviews and recommendations from experts/owners that turned out to be pretty inaccurate. only the MICHELIN LTX series of tires ive owned every one was a home run.

Exactly why I'm looking at these for towing boat and don't want to go to heavy tire but want the more aggressive look thanks

I've had Duratracs, KOs, KO2s, and now Cooper ST Maxxs.

I like the ST Maxxs best so far. KO2s and Duratracs were great though, although the Duratracs got extremely loud after about 10k miles
