Need new trans bc syncro, but what do i need exactly?

Hi everyone,

In the last year my 3rd gear syncro (assumingly) is going bad. I get a buzz going in the gear whether 2nd to 3rd or 4th to 3rd, there is a grind noise. However it is just a noise, the gear doesn't pop out of gear nor prevents me from engaging the gear... its simply just a grind noise as if i failed to clutch properly. This is why I assume the syncro is going bad.

Now to the point. I am mechanically inclined and can drop and replace a trans but I don't have the tools to rebuild my own trans. So I need to buy a rebuilt trans, I have a 2008 4x4 v6 manual and I was wondering If there is a specific trans that I need, along with that, is there a part of the trans I need to replace or is the trans and transfer case all one product when you do buy a trans. I don't want to replace more than I need. Sorry if this sounds long and cconfusing and thanks for any help.
