    I'm thinking about it now too... That would mean I'd only have to cut up my bumper rather than cut up my bumper AND make some spacers... Just one less thing to do... Cause I still have to:

    1. Get longer cables for my winch controller so I'm not just a poser
    2. Make some sort of mount for my winch controller
    3. Re-feed my rope onto my winch THROUGH the fairlead this time
    4. Try to put my bumper back together "properly" again and take pictures of how the bolt holes don't line up to send to Terry
    5. Cut up bumper
    6. Install skids
    7. Crank up coilovers
    8. Alignment


    Shit I gotta a lot to do!!!

    So the 3* difference the drop makes doesn't help prevent wear on the CV boots? I knew I shouldn't have let Toytec talk me into the drop kit for $30.:mad:

    I am actually looking at doing skids, but custom fabbed ones. I found a guy up north here in Wisconsin that said he could fab something up for like $300. I even sent him the pics of the BB skids and he said it should be pretty easy to do.

    Thanks for the link, but I don't think it's required to cut up the skids. I think Silverback did it to just the bumper...

    Unless there's something different in the new bumpers there's a plate that comes down the front of the frame and a weld seam where that plate and the front slanting plate come together. The front angle of the BB skid with normal installation runs right into that bottom section of the bumper. The only way to fit it without cutting out that weld, and possibly compromising the structural integrity, was to cut off the front of the skid and a bottom section of the bumper.

    EDIT: Just found Silverback's thread. He did the same cutting I did.

    The Budbuilt IFS skid comes up in front around the brackets like the factory skid does. The All Pro bumper requires the removal of the factory skid brackets also. Gotta trim just to bolt those back on.

    I did mine with an angle grinder and the TRD bed plug. It was interesting.

    Right. Gotta cut back the brackets to fit. I had to cut everything flush to just in front of the bolt holes and then cut out bottom of the bumper.

    Then I discovered custom fabrication and I don't hack job anymore :)
