    I read the first post and the last page.

    Relationships work like this:

    When two people first get together, they fuck like rabbits until eventually one or both of them gets tired of the way/frequency the other one fucks.

    Barring doing something stupid like getting preggers or stupider like getting married, they try and fill the void by building a relationship around mutual interests. Ideally, the fucking/mutual interests matrix is peaked and you both enjoying doing the same shit and fucking each other for the rest of your lives. This is commonly referred to as "soul-mates."

    More often, it doesn't work that way, but the relationship survives because the mutual interests is enough to overcome the deficit in fucking, or vice-versa.

    Most of the time, neither is sufficient and the relationship ends.

    Now, to summarize the extremes. People you fuck but don't want to spend time with are not lifelong companions because you don't respect them.

    People you spend time with but don't fuck are called friends.
