need some advice/ Bed Extender with tonneau cover

ARE tonneau cover, Electric Pop & Lock tail gate, 2 lighter plugs in bed, Reese hitch/ factory wiring, OEM Bed Extender and fog lights.

I have a 2012 PreRunner. I ordered a AER tonneau cover. I wanted to get the bed divider but at 260 decided not to. Now I see Toyota makes a bed extender.(216 on EBay) Will this work for what I want to do ?? Facing forward, place bags in the cage area keeping stuff in place and if I ever need to carry something longer then 6, shorter the 8, I could flip it outwards and still CLOSE the cover ???

If so, will a 2011 extender work on a 2012 ??? Thanks in advance for any thoughts
