Need some help diagnosing this shit

... does not sound good. does it only do it when the wheels are moving? i noticed you had the rear lifted off the ground

 

Its coming from my fucking transmission/transfer case.....

 

is it auto or manual, if auto then sound like ur torque convertor is going out?

 

I think the only way your going to fix it is to take it to a shop have them put it on a rack and put it in gear and feel if its coming from the transmission or transfer case.

 

but what ever it is, its major

 

could have blown the tranny/transfer case and thats the sound of a chain in the transfer case or gears in the tranny flying around

hard to tell.... manual? if its manual does it move? the pushing the clutch in change the sound? more info we'll have a better answer

 

edit..... ur info says auto. wondering does it move at all? i have an idea.... do u wheel it hard? or drive in 4wd alot?

 

Yea idk Only think I could think of would be a chain inside snapped and now it's getting thrashed around. If not then idk bout that one.

the chain i dont think is it. the chain only spins in 4wd... (im pretty sure). itd help alot if we knew if it moves or not. and if that was in drive when the video was shot?????????

 

How does the truck run while driving it?

 

I thought the chain spun in 2wd as well as 4.....very well could be wrong though
edit: even if it did spin in 2wd it wouldnt be spinning while parked so thats ruled out.....im a idiot lol

 

Sorry for the delay guys, lost my internet connection, anyway, no the truck does not move, forward,backward, in gear, out of gear, just makes that horrific noise & yes its an automatic, The chain thing sounds plausible, because of the auto hub locking feature, this tells me something, but.... fuck i dont know what it tells me, but the whole noise thing sounds alot more like a chain going slack/breaking than the random chance that a dozen or more nuts bolts ,parts,etc: suddenly came loose at the same time, i just don't know enough about the newer process 4x/ with auto this & auto that, but guess I'm going to learn now, the hard way, someone mentioned that it didnt sound cheap, they're right, from what I've gathered these tranny's cost between $3k up to $4k to rebuild........ I say FUCK THAT NOISE!, x100 ...

I will say that earlier in the day before it grenaded on me, it was upshifting SUPER FUCKING HARD !! like it was trying to chirp the tires going from 3rd to 4th (over drive) really weird, & then outta no where, just dumps all forward movement & a tow truck was called.... FML !!

So if any of you have any suggestions, sing on out, this one has really got the oLdMaN stumped.....

 

I think your transmition went out. Sounds almost like my old ford explorer when The transmition gave. just sold the truck as is

x2 your tranny blew....can almost gaurentee it......fuckin sucks. only way to confirm wouuld be to drop the pan and see what you find. I bet you find shrapnel lol. thats the easy way to find out.
