2015 Tacoma TRD Sport access cab long bed. Love it and drives amazing. I plan on new wheels and tires. SCS 17x8.5 wheels with a 275/60-17 BFG KO2 tire. I would like to keep the rear of truck stock with shocks and springs as it all drives perfect. I don't mind spending the money to do it right, but the truck will never do any offroading. In long run possible some mild trails but for the next 100K miles it will not be anything serious that stock could handle.

Wanting it to drive as good or close to it does now, I have searched and read a lot but never seem to find an answer. I know spacers are the devil, and lot of mixed reviews about bilstein 5100's adjusted a little up. I dred the rigid ride and feel ever crack in road. I have much experiance with how that feels on our last 2005 Tacoma (fixed after removing 3" spacers and going full OME kit with LR UCA's) also my '97 4Runner when I used OME coils and shocks. It jarred my dash and inside over every hole and bump in road and I despised driving it. Now have bilstein 5100/5125 (Tundra TRD bilsteins though with TRD Tundra coils and its a cloud finally).

Please shoot me some options to level front and rear and have it drive right.

    1. Spacers (how much 1-2"? on stock struts?

    2. Better spring like OME or Eiback toytecs whatever combo is best

    3. Just get wild an get the Icon coil overs now. And if I ever go bigger in future which is not happening I can adjust. Just a silly amount of money for a leveling kit to drive around town.

    Thanks for reading!

I was in the same boat. I ending up w/ the Toytec Boss coil overs. Not cheap but very nice.

The one issue I'm having is that the Boss coil overs are great but not as stiff as the factory spring/shock and now it's a bit unbalanced from front to rear. The rear still has that "sport" ride while the front is much more forgiving. Very plush and absorbs bumps well without being too soft and squishy. I think I'm going to try some different shocks in the rear. May end up with new leaf springs. Not sure yet.

    My vote is for #3.

The reason I elected to go w/ the pricey Boss coil overs is because they are infinitely adjustable from 0" to 4". 0"-3" to keep them in warranty. This left me a lot of room to change my set up as needed. They'er quality w/ a larger shock piston to take more abuse. Currently I'm only at ¾" of lift. Going to go up another 1" as it appears Toyota believes this is within spec according to the 2" total lift on the Pro. Should level me out nicely. I also have air bags for towing which allows me to make some small height adjustment to match the front if needed.

Check out Fox 2.0 Coilovers or the new 6112 series from Bilstein.

I am also in the same boat and I'm actually going with Fox to level it out at first, then crank them up a bit when money for new UCAs come in. For your application of only to level, any of these should ride like butter, and you can get front Coilovers and rear shocks in both of these series for less than Icon/King front coilover only.

    Just my $0.02

    Appreciate the replys.

Bloodthinnerz - where have you seen the new bilsteins I will look into those. I am all about the fox suspension just like hearing from someone who has used these fox or icon's. I have all Icon coils and shocks in my f250 and can't say one bad thing. Have used there 2.0 and 2.5 piggy backs in mine and love them all.

I had a feeling that is the right answer was #3. For all I know things change I hit the lotto and we start wheeling the truck even more in which case I can just adjust them up to 2.5 or more and lift the rear with a new leaf pack. Then will let the tires I am going with flex around much more. Hey, YA NEVER KNOW HAH!

Thanks again, more suggestions are always welcome

No pricing on the 6112s yet. Any day now!

Pretty tempting, hopefully they come soon. I am not buying for another few months just getting my ducks in a row first! Might have to see how these come out. Watched a video on them so should be competative with the other brands.

Going to research the fox ones now, Always been partial to the brand and still interested in Icon's for more height adjustable for furture if needed. Odd the fox go 0-2"

Fox is tempting the most right now. Can't believe they are $799 from toytec (just as a price reference) and Icon coil kit is $1199! That sure helps push me to one side over the other for sure. I do like the icon kit but not fixed on it with that pricing.

I leveled mine on a smaller budget. 5100's all the way around with the fronts set at 1.75", and the Firestone Ride-Rite airbags in the rear. The 5100's feel great on the sport springs IMO, and the bagged rear allows me to haul heavier items without stressing the weak factory leafs, not to mention level the rear perfectly to the front. My truck feels planted in the corners and rides smooth as glass, and I love the way it looks. I couldn't be happier. I'd love a full icon setup, but honestly didn't need that. Mostly a pavement princess here with an occasional farm road, or dirt trail out to the hunting spot. Good luck with your suspension!
