I have not had to deal with this issue yet, but have read many posts here about 2 different people who custom-built ready-to-install units. They were all the rave for awhile, but eventually fell out of favor. If you have a name of someone, post it and those in the know about that someone will throw in their 2 cents.

@05Taco4x4 . Efficient, responsive, good prices. Has yet to fall from favor from what I can tell.

Bought mine from @05Taco4x4 in July 2018 - I have about 10000 miles on them now and no issues. Outstanding worksmanship. He has a really really nice custom jig that he uses, probably above and beyond what anyone else would be use, to stabilize the inner and outer races simultaneously while pressing the hub into the delicate bearing.

Yep! Still building and selling. Thanks for the kind words. Matter of fact I recently received an email from a customer who is still running my Pre-runner sets on his Baja rig after 80k miles. I have less than a 1% failure rate, and the longest warranty offered by anyone.

Bama has been banned from TW for lousy delivery times.

05taco4x4 is the guy you want to deal with.

@oledragoon he's been banned. You were lucky. I ordered one during his black Friday sale a few years back. 3 months maybe before I saw it.

Napa has one with hub, assembled and CV seal and O ring included for just over 2 bills with a lifetime warranty. Not having to wait or buy the other seals made it worth it to me

I bought the 950-001 Dormant on Amazon for $110. My research led me to believe it is the same as the Napa house brand. Dorman has a lifetime warranty through Amazon (meaning you go through Amazon for a warranty claim). Haven't used it, but hope it's as smooth as other Amazon purchases. Had the dorman hub on for a month and so far so good.

The press service people offered wasn't attractive to me due to lack of warranty.

Luckily, I bought mine from jerseybuilt a few yrs ago before their customer service went down the toilet and eventually banned on TW. Very nice product but I would now recommend @05Taco4x4. Seems many here are happy with his assemblies. Personally, don't be tempted buying cheaper off places like Amazon or Autozone with lifetime warranties because it's likely their products will fail fairly quickly and wheel bearings is not a task I enjoy doing twice.

    Can also vouch for @05Taco4x4.

Ships fast and the assemblies have quality bearings

Was thinking the same thing. Had a guy I work with tell me he had some part or another from AZ with a "lifetime warranty", and it failed so he took it back and they told him "Yea that means the lifetime of the part. So the part is done for, it's life is over...so we'll replace it once, but don't bring the next one back 'cause it wont be free"

Shouldn't the new part reset the "lifetime warranty"?

At any rate, he told em to get fucked and bought one somewhere else. He made it sound like it was a hard enough job that it was worth paying again to not have to do the work a third time.

I'd rather do a wheel bearing twice compared to the knock sensor.

Wheel bearing swap isn't that bad. 90 minutes imo if you got the tools and don't screw around.

@Taco Wake how long will that warranty take to execute? I can walk into Napa with a bad bearing and walk out with a replacement.

I haven't had to warranty the wheel bearing, but the posts I have seen (not on tacomaworld but dorman parts for other vehicles) indicate you contact Amazon and they send out a new one. See, e.g., post #6 at https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/threads/mirror-replacement-which-brand.239391/#post-3806913

I agree that the wheel bearing swap wasn't bad. Took me less than 2 hours (first time doing any work on a tacoma).
