I have this exact same sound. It only happens to me when the front goes over a bump (like a speed bump) the suspension seems to extend real fast and then I hear a clunk (metal on metal) sound like it bottomed out, then the weight comes back down and re compresses the suspension. I'm lost with it.

I had the same noise, and couldnt figure it out . Mine did it on small bumps like speed bumps. When I decided to take it to a dealer they knew in 5 min what it was. front bumper extensions there is a tsb issued on them. Had them replaced now the noise is gone.

hmm okay, do you know why they cause the sound and what the TSB does to fix it?

Think I might just try to fix it myself, my local stealership techs are worthless at the best.

78,000 and the bushings are bad. Anyone else have this problem. I made one final video on a ruff trail and you could see and hear my tie road moving in & out

Subbed, I have the same problem and I think it is my inner tie rod, but the parts manager at my toyota dealership thinks its the bushings also, unfortunately i have no warranty. What was the solution, new bushings, rack? THanks

Thread revival I know, but did the new bushings take care of the problem?

LCA bushings. My mechanic told me that was most likely the problem. I guess the factory bushings aren't even lubed before install so of they have been on the truck for some time(or offroading) they can crack and wear causing them to stick, then when you jar them they will pop due to them being dry.

    I think that's the explanation.
