Just confirming, does this apply to 2wd trucks or only 4wd.

Keep it in a straight line and you'll be fine, I regularly run my truck up to 55-60mph in 4hi on straight highway stretches that run for a few miles just to exercise components if I don't get offroad for awhile. Just keep the truck under when engaging / disengaging.

I just got my 2016 TRD Off-road lifted about 1.5-2 inches all around with Fox shocks. Had the dealer install it for a good reasonable price (Full lift, add-a-leaf, needle bearing, new TPMS, and alignment).

First thing we talked about when I was figuring out my lift was getting the bushing. The Toyota service manager actually brought this up, and he in fact suggested using the ECGS bushing that many people talk about on here. Found that interesting that a service manager from Toyota would know about it enough to suggest changing the needle bearing, and using that company instead of a Toyota part. He suggested it before we even finished our first two sentences and mentioned they put it on all of their lifted Tacoma's on their lot. Hope this helps a few people.

What else, specifically, can happen from letting it go?

Have a 3 inch lift on mine, get vibrations on it and goes away in 4Hi. Going to change the needle bearing in a few months once a get some extra spending cash to pay for labor.

It will cause wear on the CV. With that said, I've been running mine hard with a shot needle bearing for 33k miles. When I finally replace the CV, I'll do the needle bearing at the same time.

Anyone got the vibes on their lifted suspension, swapped back to stock, and taken it in for the dealer to fix??

What's the point, they're just going to put the same inferior needle bearing in that will probably go south once you reinstall your suspension.

Fix it right the first time or add it to the list to change out when changing the suspension.

Because people on here have stated the dealer replaced the stock part with the ecgs that was given to them.

You didnt state you were providing an aftermarket part to replace the failed needle bearing but if thats the case, ask the dealer first if they'll install.

Getting one to do that would be might be a bit difficult.

Ya I could see them denying it. I was quoted $430 parts and labor to do the ecgs replacement. It would be nice for Toyota to pick up that tab, haha. Can always wish, right?

Keeping it solidly low carb though....

In relevant news, i am expecting my OME lift with 886 heavy front coils and heavy duty leaf pack to arrive next week. I am deciding if i should order the bushing and put it in while I’m at it. I’ll be doing the lift myself with a few buddy’s helping out. My Taco will be up on a real lift in a shop that happens to be closed for the weekend. Anyone have a link to a YouTube video on how to actually pull and install this? I’ll admit i did not read the entire thread if i missed it. Thank you.
