I'm behind the times on this whole subject. I got new shoes a month ago and been vibrating ever since. Tire shop has tried several setups and can't loose the vibration. My toytec lift wad installed in February and just now having issues. Vibration from 57 - 68 mph. Does this sound like the norm for the bearing problem?

Is it only at that speed? Does it go away when in 4hi? If so then yes.

Based on the speed you're seeing it I'd say it sounds more like a wheel balancing problem, but jsinnard's advice would let you know for sure. I've had a few sets of tires over the years that just refused to balance. I had some KO2's that were road-force balanced 4 times and they never worked. Swapped those for cooper st maxx and they were smooth as butter.

Agreed, if only at highway speed its likely either wheel balance or tire out of round.

I put 6112/5160's set at 5/6 with the AAL. About 1k miles in and no vibrations. Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself...

There was a post in here earlier from a very reputable shop who puts on lifts. They mentioned that they have put on hundreds of lifts and have never heard of anyone experiencing these vibrations. For some reason I don't see the post now but I got the email notification of it earlier. That is the exact same thing that my Toyota dealership told me about their experiences installing lifts over the last several years.

That leads me to believe that maybe the issue isn't as widespread as what I think. It would make sense because most people only come to tacomaworld to a-brag about their Tacoma (nothing wrong with that) or b- complain about problems. I'm not speculating that it doesn't happen a lot, maybe just not as huge of an issue when you consider the entire Tacoma population that Has Lifted their trucks.

I just did the bushing with the lift.
Figured may as well do it all at once so I dont need to do it later.

I put the busing in before I installed the lift. So I have no idea how bad the vibes are. I assume a lot of people are more sensitive than others and as such feel every little thing. You can put 20 different people in the same truck and they might all feel something different

That's what I considered, do it as a preventive measure than to have to wait to see if the symptom pops up then have to pull the front end apart again. Bushing is $60 and with plenty of extraction tools floating around to borrow, cheap piece of mind.

    list is growing fast
17 sport dclb. Fox coils and 1.5" of lift in front. On for the past 1k miles. Didn't touch the needle bearing. No vibes. But I am ready to order from ecgs if that changes.

i bought the tool since there weren't many north of the wall that had it or that I could track down.

So now that I have it, it will just be bouncing around between all the other guys I wheel with that do the bushing.

What's the fastest you can drive in 4hi to test if vibes occur at certain speeds?
My vibes are at about 55-65mph but I think it's more a balancing issue on these Nittos.

If you're getting the vibration in both 2wd and 4hi it's a tire/balancing issue. Needle bearing failure is usually diagnosed when vibration goes away in 4wd.

I didn't do enough research before installing my lift or I would've installed the bushing with the lift. Now, 3k miles later, I have the 40mph-ish vibes and will be receiving the bushing tomorrow.

I lifted my 16 Tacoma w/ 5100's all the way up and the vibes were instantly there. Toyota kept blaming the lift and wouldnt do anything till I bring it back to stock they said. I had the ECGS Bushing installed and the vibes are now gone. my needle bearing was damaged when they gave it back to me.

I’m installing my lift this Friday. I ordered the ECGS bushing and tools to do it myself while installing the lift.

Don’t know if this has been posted on here or not yet but here is an awesome video of the ECGS Bushing install for those in need.

Oh, also I’ll have a tool for loaning to an honest TW member after I get mine done. You pay shipping!

I have a 2017 trd sport dcsb. Toytec 2.5 Boss lift with Dakar leaf pack 275/70/17 bfg ko2. No weird sounds or vibrations that are not normal. Common to have a little vibe with a lift and bigger tires
