Looks pretty good. So everything but the mic? Was it a farely easy install? Harness and a little rewiring?

Not to steal the question but to add my outcome also: Aside from the front camera, I just picked up all the harness connections from Crutchfield and it was 100% plug and play for my SR5...from HU to Maestro I didn't splice a thing. If you want to save a few bucks you can DIY some of it but I didn't want to deal with it honestly.

...but yes, you loose the factory mic and get a wired Kenwood version which seems to work equally.

Yup, just the mic which as wahoobie said is included with most head units. I think I had to splice maybe 10-12 wires total which I did in my house on the kitchen table. After that you pop off the trim around the head unit, unscrew 4 bolts and remove the cabling. The Maestro harness just plugs into the head unit then into the OEM plugs and you're all set. Took maybe 30 minutes tops to install. I need to realign the brackets to fill in a gap, but that's because the mounting kit is kind of cheap.

Thanks for the info. Where did you hide the maestro?

I tucked the harness down below the unit. Aftermarket units tend to be shallower in depth so there's more room to work with.

Has anyone figured out how to splice in the factory mic to these aftermarket HUs?

I was looking at going this route also but could not decide between the $450 kit you purchased or the $249 iPhone mirroring option. With your kit, did you have to purchase the extra apple cables anyways?

I ended up going with the $450 option because I wanted CarPlay. I liked the idea of being able to use the OEM touch screen to select navigation (Waze) as well as music/podcasts. The $249 allows you to mirror the phone, but you're still manipulating the phone (not the head unit touch screen) and you need the extra cables. I did not have to purchase any extra cables with the CarPlay kit. I just needed the USB-to-Lightning that I use to charge my phone and plug it into the USB port in the truck. I did purchase the $8 USB harness from BeatSonic to do this to give it a cleaner look. I'm now on week 3 with the BeatSonic unit and love it.

Glad to help. I don't know if I sealed the deal for you to get the mirroring kit or CarPlay module, but either way, I hope you enjoy the unit.

I would recommend getting the $8 USB harness so you can use your factory USB port. I just think it looks cleaner that way instead of running a USB cable through your console.

Well. I got the part numbers. Saw them on a FB group post where the OP also stated these will NOT be plug and play into 2016-2019 Tacoma's. Not sure how much work will be involved getting these to work in an older tacoma. Quick search came up with these listed on mcgeorge toyota, all over $4k... :pout:
