    Hey, Folks.

I just noticed this TSB for the serpentine belt. Even though it is effective for 2016 through 2020 Tacos, it is only during the bumper to bumper warranty period. So, a good number of us will not be eligible.

I think the more important part is that the belt part number was changed to 90916-A2037 for folks that might be replacing their belts. I don't know the difference between the two.

    Have a good one.

Are you saying that the tech gets paid for 9 min to change the belt?

its a bulletin for a freaking belt squeak. don't make it more than it is or the consumer guide reliability score will go down even further...

On squeak versus chirp, I am happy to not hear or deal with squealing drive belts or having to swap in and adjust four of those things.

In the end, it is a wear item. I just wanted to note the new part number for the homegamers.

    You're welcome!

Yeah. I'm out of BtB warranty also. I do enjoy swapping serp belts though, considering the old days.

Hmm interesting. I wonder if that has anything to do with the massive amount of black rubber dust on the underside of my hood right in line with the belt.

There was some discussion of tensioner pulley issues a long time back. It might be a combination.

Well, I match up to a certain point. I don't quite understand this TSB but I have a guess.
5TFCZ5AN#LX is what I have, whereas the TSB lists "KX." I can only assume that means my VIN is not under this TSB. On the other hand, my 2017 is "HX" so I guess that means it is affected.
Not that this is one I will worry about though.

Good to know the change in part number. Plan on replacing mine at 120k, around late March or April. Truthfully, it would probably last until 200k. Have a buddy who replaced the first one on his 2007 FJ at 260k when the tensioner went out.

That sounds correct. I'm the same with an HX VIN.

Out of curiosity, how do you read the labor time in the TSB? I see "Time 0.2". Isn't 0.2 hour equal to 12 minutes? What do the "T1 91" and "T2 40" mean?
