the Lower i got as a complete "M4" lower asssembly was $250 from spikes and $90 for the DROS fees in california. (now $274, was on sale)
    http://www.spikestactical.com/new/z/spider-bullet-lower-w-standard-kit-m4-stock-p-589.html

    the upper is from tenpercentfirearms.com
    http://www.tenpercentfirearms.com/i...ducts_id=752&zenid=f0dqt9nikeet6aegp2ksd15b85
    $600

Trijicon 4x32 tritium full red illumination was $765 shipped hard to find that price. usually around $899, check gunbroker.com. Got mine there.

The midwest industries quad rail was about $120 i think

the Vltor imod stock was $94 from bravocompanyusa
    http://www.bravocompanyusa.com/Vltor-Basic-IMod-Stock-Standard-p/vltor aib-ms -black.htm

the PWS compensator was off ebay $119
    http://cgi.ebay.com/Primary-Weapons...336?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item45f9c32970

    Molon labe dust cover $28
    http://www.molonlabeshop.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=19&products_id=29

for a grand total of $2066... wow, never really realized it was so expensive until i itemized everything haha... awesome gun though and definitely recommend spikes tactical for lower or upper assy's, or speak to Wes at tenpercentfirearms.com, easy to deal with and knows everything about AR's since he was the first to import them back into cali after the ban.

Looks good but I'd have taken that ACOG $ and bought a better upper but that's me.

Wait 'till they get closer? Seriously though, I love the ACOG; not so much a fan of the upper but it looks like the zombies should definitely be worried.

I have 3 AR's all together and the other M4 style one i have has a Daniel Defense (16.5) upper with the same spikes lower, the third has a stag upper on a sipkes lower as well and if there is a difference, i cant really tell. What brands do you like?

Yah this was definitely a pricey rilfe, and i really spared expenses on it! you could easily drop 3 grand on these things... Looked into full auto conversions... definitely easy to do, but definitely not worth the risk in cali lol... AR's are already scrutinized enough in this state, last thing resposible AR owners would need is a 25yr old caught with a full blown assault rifle causing more laws to be passed restricting the already restricted ownership of AR's in california... CALguns.net would hate me haha

M4-style upper, so it's a flat-top right? Why do you mount the ACOG on top of the carry handle? The 3.5" reticle offset would drive me crazy.

First choice would be: Colt, BCM, Daniel Defense, KAC, or LMT. I like STAG and CMMG too though.

It has a removable carry handle, so yes, it's a flat top. I was fortunate enough to qualify on a M16A2 when i was in the Navy so i'm a big fan of carry handles. What's this 3.5"s you are talking about? Is that the distance from the cheek pad to the eye piece? If thats the case, i can live with the xtra .5" or so more hieght from the carry handle iron sight.
    Doesnt bother me at all.

But, i may change my mind in the future :D

No prob man, i think my next AR build will be the spikestactical.com 7075 billet upper and lower set... i like the idea of sharp lines and angles on it, built in "winter" trigger guard standard... it's pretty :D

But it's been out of stock for some time now, and i just spent all my money on a Supercharger for my Tacoma lol. Just some ideas to check out... Also Black Rain Ordenance makes a nice upper as well, same style as spikes' Hope you get some good ideas! in the world of AR's the possibilities are limitlesss...

I was referring to the difference between the eyepiece and barrel axis. The standard iron sight has a 2.5" offset. Putting the ACOG on top of the carry handle looks to add another inch. It increases mental workload at close range, shooting behind cover, etc., because the point of aim and point of impact are farther apart.

Yah i'd say using my normal iron sights i have my cheek resting on the high side... when looking through the ACOG i'm definitely on the lower side because of the added height. Doesn't bother me much, but most of my shooting is at the same range i always go to sitting on benches... at 100yrds i can do pretty tight groups. 100 yards to about 300 i can hit 6" metal gongs consistantly.
