For $40 you can install the Carista app and turn it off. Problem solved!

Crack your windows open about an inch and turn your heat on full blast. Leave your car running for 2 to 3 hours and this will decrease the toxins significantly. I did this and it worked great. Also you can leave your car out in the sun on a hot day with the windows cracked and this will help do the same thing. I had A headache as well from the nauseating smell of the chemicals.

OP has a valid concern. I don't have time right now, but Im going to go thru this thread, and check for people being unwarranted douche bags. If I find some, It aint gonna be fun for them. If you feel you may have been an unwarranted douche bag, I suggest you go back, and delete your post before I have to.

Chemical hypersensitivity is a real thing. As I've gotten older my super power has become a super heightened sense of smell. I really would have rather gotten flying. :(

    tonneau,
Looked at a new highlander today and the smell of rubber was real bad. It must be the rubber mats I have the carpet ones in my new Tacoma and no smell.

Well, just to update the smell problem I've been having. Since I took the original four matts out from behind my seat. And put them in the hall way to my house my car isn't that bad but my hallway now stinks most of the smell I think was coming from the carpeted mats . Atleast that what it seamed to me and especially the driver and passenger ones that had Tacoma stitch into them. Seems like I missed out on a lot of good stuff oh well next thread !

The "new car" smell on my truck isn't too bad but I can see how it could affect some people. I did change out the mats immediately though for the weathertechs. It's possible the foam is off gassing as well. Did you opt for any type of scotch guard or chemical treatment to to seats when you got your vehicle?
