It could also be the release agent from the molding process. Try washing the floor mats with some dish soap, then leave them in the sun instead of the hallway. Also as others have suggested, wipe down the interior.

Someone had mention besides the plastics they use glues. So I'm starting to think it's more a combination of whatever glues and plastics on the interior like I said especially the driver mat where they glued the hard plastic onto, or into the fabric of the mats .
Any one want to buy a set of mats BO?image.jpg

I don't think it's 3rd gen owners complaining, I think its 2nd gen owners pretending to be 3rd gen owners complaining. :)

nah, I actually like the 2nd gen as well, it's been tested through time, there are fixes for the little quirks already out there.

oh, and back on topic, febreeze makes those vent clip things, have you tried those?

Well, if you're that sensitive to smells, I don't know what would work except giving it time. I'm thinking the summer months will be better for you as that will hopefully speed up the process. I don't notice it as much after having the truck for a week, but we have warmer weather down here. Anything you put in the vehicle isn't going to make the smell go away, it's just going to mask it.

If you don't want any smell, use baking soda.

You know, that's actually not a bad idea for him. Home Depot has several that help with paint fumes, made by 3M. I use one in my shop. I'm sure that would help. Would look weird, but meh, if it keeps him healthy.

I started using one last summer when applying lacquer to a cabinet I was refinishing. It worked very well and to get him through this off gassing from the plastics, would be ideal I think.
