My names Alan I'm in the market for a new tacoma 4x4 4door with a trd package I've been looking into the sport package but today I find a off-road package for my price range. Now I don't know what to go for I like the look of the sport package a lot better but then again its the off-road package too but to be honest I don't need the off-road package I just think its cool. I don't plan on really off roading with the brand new truck ofcourse who would most wouldn't. Talk some sense into me and tell me to get the sport not to mention it will save me a grand or two.

    welcome....

go with what you really like. but imo, if you're not going to do any off-roading like you said, then it would be pointless to get the off-road version

It's hard to turn down an off-road when I found a dealership that will give them both to me for practicallly the same price!

I have a Off Road DC and I have yet to use my locker. I wish I had the color matched bumpers and the scoop over the locker as per I dont Off Road. However, If we get the blizzards like we did last year, It may get me out of a tight situation.

Go Sport....If your not going Off Road. PS Welcome & Thanks..

haha either way I'm sure I'll eventually get into some LITE wheeling. but since I will be 99% of my driving on the paved roads does the sport ride considerable better than the off-road? The factory all terrain isn't very aggresive at all so I don't see that effecting the ride that much but how about the suspension? And yeah I do like the color match grill and bumper considerable better! The damn dealerships around here can't find me a sport for the price I got for the off road.

I honestly think it will be I'll get the off-road for two reasons: 1 I'll get to impatient waiting for the dealership to get me a sport I want and 2 I don't want to regret not having the off-road features down the road.

 Once you have it you might want to post in the buy/sell/trade section and see if somebody will swap hoods with you. If you can't find one that way, you can buy a sport hood. There's a thread around here someplace for that. Not sure about the other color matched pieces though.

Getting an E-locker installed on a sport later is rather expensive in comparison.

If I remember the difference in the suspension, the offroad has progressive springs. The sport does not. Not sure how different the ride quality is.
