New custom wheels

I have been wanting black wheels with red on my truck for a long time. I couldn't find any to buy that had the look I wanted, and more importantly, a pair that I could afford. So, in light of getting laid off and having much more free time I decided to just go ahead and do it myself.

what paint did you use??

 

rims look great I just started doing mine today too, can you explain how you did the red please? is that a paint pen or?? where you find it at??

 

I used Rustoleom (I think that's how it's spelled) matte black. And for the red part I used a Duplicolor scratch touch up tube that came with a pen and a brush and veery carefully did the emblem.

Fo sho! I just need patience. How did you prep the wheels? Did you sand them down?

 

I washed them, then got some grime out with steel wool (there was lots of mud on those wheels ). After that I did some heavy sanding, then used a shammy with mineral spirits to get any residual dust off and then used primer, then paint.
