I think @baldbeardedtaco was looking to test the height that he needs with just two bolts and a stack of washers.

The main question there is how much space is available under the one attachment. I can't remember if it is the inboard or outboard, but one is open to the ground and one has another layer of material under it at an unknown depth.

It was a bit too late in the day to whip out my probe. :D

    Set it and forget it.

With the shaped spacers, even though I am in and out of there, I never even notice them. Perfect for my minor case of OCD.

Yes, that was my plan (thinking it would be difficult to get an .5” extension after the fact) but after his post saying .5 availability still (even though I didn’t see it on Etsy) so maybe just need to contact op directly for that? If that’s the case I’ll just get the 1” to start and request .5 if needed after.

so @7r41lbr34k3r can you put me on the list for v1 1” no logo. What ballpark time are you thinking?

I didn't really plan to make more of them anytime soon. Interest has been spotty for a while so I picked up a few non-Tacoma related jobs to keep me busy, pretty much for the rest of 2020.

I'm actually halting shift knob production as well, possibly upgrading my equipment to handle future volume.

I'm at a bit of a cross roads right now.

Oh, I did put the 1/2" extensions up on etsy today ... but they are pretty much useless without the V1 spacers.

There are others out there, but none match the shape of the trim. I started with my own homemade round spacers and hated them. It looked half-assed.

Thanks. Yea, thats kinda what I meant; something similar in shape. I'd rather they not look like a bunch of stacked spacers on top of each other for that same reason.

    :hattip:

These are it. A couple folks have asked permission to produce these and no one has actually done so. The guess is that the cost of actual production is nowhere close to @7r41lbr34k3r .

Yep, not much money in these really and they are expensive for what they are. Bit of a niche product, and hardly worth the effort (for competition) to duplicate them considering the waning interest.

If I knew they would continue to sell at a reasonable rate, I would buy a faster machine and include anodize for the same price.

Yea it's probably one of those items that will sell over time, but slowly. What about just producing a batch at a time once a group purchases? How a lot of GBs work.

That can work, but haven't ever been able to round up enough people at once.

I used to work with waitlists, which sometimes got impressively long, but when the time came only maybe 20-30% (average) would end up placing an order while the rest would ghost. I have been around this block dozens of times. It was great in the beginning, could not make these fast enough.

It isn't reasonable to take payment or deposit upfront if it's going to drag on for months at a time before I hit the desired order number, either. Just haven't been able to come up with anything except, make parts and pray they sell. Honestly, I'm more interested in family time unless people are depending on me to produce.

I can always make time to produce a batch of 25-30 pairs, even if it means taking a week vaca from my day job (got plenty of that stored up).

How many orders would it take to produce a batch? V1 or 2. Although I'd personally prefer black/copolymer.

    12 for V1's.

V2's, those were an experiment. Technically, I can make them in less time (hence the idea for a lower price point) ... but it involves more manual labor. It is doubtful that I will find the motivation to make those again if I am completely honest. They also make an absolute mess that I am STILL cleaning up.
