I just purchased a new 2007 Double Cab Tacoma w/offroad package. I'm looking for what people have done as far as racks on a double cab for hauling bikes and canoes? Any suggestions?

    Thanks,
    Boks

I've hauled mtn bikes and kayaks in mine. i have a double cab short bed. I just throw the bikes in the back and stack em on top of each other. i just throw the kayak in the back and run a strap through one of the loops and tie it down with the D-rings. Thats why i got a truck, so i wouldnt have to mess with racks and stuff. just throw it in the back, strap it down and go.

yeah, i saw that too, but i'm not gonna spend money when i can just lay it down. I run a chain between the bike frame and the dring so no one can take it

I ordered the bike fork mounts. I have a 18ft canoe that I'll be hauling so it's a bit long to throw in the back and tie down. So I'm not sure if I should look at a rack that goes over the cab or over the bed of the truck. Has anyone used the Thule Xsporter with a short bed double cab?

Yeah, that canoe is a good bit longer than my kayak, maybe a rack is a good idea....
