New FJ Option - coming to Tacoma in 2010 too?

and the fj looks like a 4runner with the fj's front end, the only problem with the fj's is that they dont have a box? its like having a girlfriend with no box...

i think you have to enter a code on the door handle and what happens is that the the materializes away like in star trek then when you get in.. it comes back... i dont know on that tundra concept.. it looks like there is a giant frame with a handle on it that serves no purpose for opening lol

 

Not gonna lie but an intelligent key with push button start would be pretty sick.

I'll beleive it when I see it... They just reintroduced the FJ and the 4runner is a super seller for the anti-van driving soccer mom... It's not going to happen, no way!! of course if I'm incorrect you can say I told you so!

 

One thing toyota is good at is slim lining their selection of vehicles, which is a smart thing because the less vehicles they sell the cheaper they are to produce and they also dont make new versions of certain models often(like the tacoma)which is why they hold their value. But seeing how toyota has been increasing sales in north america I would say that they are now selling enough to have extra models like the fj.

I read a bunch of articles on this stuff and Toyota is planning to stop all SUV production except the 4runner after 2010. this includes no more FJs. I also read that Toyota feels that they have gotten away from the 4runners original roots and that they want to return to that. I don't doubt that they may try to marry the 2 which would be awesome.
If they made a 4 door FJ I would have gotten that instead of my Tacoma.

 

I actually heard the same thing when I bought my truck at the end of April... from one of the salesmen at the dealership.

I'd commented that the Rav4 and Highlander have gotten noticeably larger. He said that while nothing's official, Toyota purposely made the new Rav4 the size of the old Highlander, and Highlanders are getting to be the size of the 4Runner... so they have the option of merging the the FJ and 4Runner into one.

 

I didn't notice that before...good eye man. I hope it still looks like the 4Runner, I have special connections with Runners. that's one Yota vehicle I would like to not see die.

 

very vague statement, but true. a redesigned 4Runner is coming out 2010, this is confirmed by my buddies wife that works for toyota corp and has gone to a few press meetings about it...i keep trying to get some info/pics from him, but he is very forgetful! i have also seen the covered up test vehicle outside my work a few times. it looks really funny w/ the newer non-LED tails sticking out the back!

 

A couple of weeks ago I called the Toyo dealer looking for an FJ. Gave him a list of options (roof rack & lights, brush guard & lights, 4x4 etc) & said 2 colors......black or yellow

He called me 2 days later.....there are 6 FJ cruisers left for sale in the state of NM that are new & one was on 08. No black or yellow though.

Hoping they make 10's so we can get 1.

Not sure....I know when I got my truck from Roswell Toyota that they found it it Karl Malone Toyota in ABQ. so they do check around.

He said there were quite a few used ones but only 6 new ones....1 Silver, 1 Tan & 4 Brick Red or whatever that maroon is.

May have to go to TX if the wife REALLY wants one.

lol, please - those asshats at toyota never had the intention of making a supra. They're saying they'll cancel it because of mpg but lexus is still bringing out the LFA that has a V10 ?? lol uh huh
