Got my first Toyota 9/2012 after owning three Ford Rangers. Love the truck. Rides like a fine sedan. Still getting used to how much bigger it is than the Rangers.

    Another proud 315-er?

I am new to this kind of stuff. I want to pose a question regarding boat racks that I want to post to the Tacoma world but not sure which "thread" to post it on.
    Any hints?

    thanks.

well, you got me a little on that one, since there isnt much that I see on here for threads reguarding a boat rack. I assume you mean an overhead/utilty rack that sits on the cab to carry a kayak or something similar. I would do a search for overhead racks or utility racks and see what ya got. this sorta what your looking for???
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/2nd-gen-tacomas/283088-kayak-rack.html
If you do need to post a question on it, I personally would put it in 2nd gen tacomas or 2nd gen builds or as a third choice off topic discussion - gen automotive. on another note where abouts in cny are you? im south of utica about 25 miles

So far I've added an Advance folding bed cover and since removed it. Gave it to my son in Maine, he has an 05 2wd. GT perfect fit seat covers. Weathertech floor mats and window vent visors. Waag center brush/grill guard. Hose clamp tailgate mod. Turned off the seat belt chime. Added Ultra-Gauge. Trailer hitch. Softopper. Replaced sun visors with slide out style. Toyota bed extender. Had Firestone Destinations and now Michelin LTX AT2 in stock size. More mods to come; Fog lights, locking storage in bed, intermittent wipers. Now looking for Radio/HU upgrade. and maybe a lift way down the road.
When did all of NY except the obvious become "upstate".

I live in Western NY. I have friends in central NY, Southerntier, and upstate.

    :(

Depends on who you talk to... When I worked "downstate" Rockland County everyone down there thought Albany was upstate!

Right now I refer to Albany as "arm pit" the other would be a bit south.

    Sorry if I offended.

I have had my double cab Tacoma for almost 2 years and love it.........except: Toting a canoe. On my 3 previous Ford Rangers I was able to cobble up very functional canoe racks out of 2x4s that fit nicely into the post holes in the bed. Can't do that on these fancy Tacomas! So I researched commercial racks and finally was persuaded that the TracRac would work. And did fit, structurally. But when I tried to load my canoe on it the prow of the canoe hit the roof of my truck before the canoe gunnels were anywhere near hitting the rack!
So now I am back to square one.
    Anyone else had similar experience?
