Brand new to the forum. Just bought brand new 2017 inferno tacoma trd sport. Am I a loser for not at least getting the 4x4. I have no need for it other than to say I have it. The thing that really got me on this topic is that the wife just bought a '15 4runner TRD PRO! She bought soley for the look of it and will probably never use the 4x4, crawl control, terrain selection etc.

    So what say you...am I a loser?

Only you know what/how you'll use your truck and 4x2 is less maintenance/things to go wrong. I am, however, willing to help you out in any way I can to prevent you from feeling like a loser, so I'll let you send me your wife's T4R Pro so you don't have any regrets :)

You have a brand new tacoma and your wife has a '15 4x4 pro 4runner? I'd say you are winning, homie.

Lol. Love the truck, got a 3 in lift put on, 31 in tires with 20 in black rims. Just gorgeous. But now I feel slightly uneasy when the wife pulls up. Oh well, I can still drive both

You're totally a loser for not spending money on things you don't need or want.

I think I've personally added over 1k views to that video. I really got a kick out of that phase of his life... well, the public part we knew about

And to the OP... Having a Taco and T4R is a great combo...

Nope. Money in the bank. Toss that $ in your retirement fund.

The good news here is she bought used. While not needing the hardware, at least she's not buying the off the floor depreciation. And that gear will likely help with resale if that time comes.

I will however, predict the Tacoma will be gone long before the 4Runner. :D

    Very nice! Both of them.
You buy what you need and like. No need to buy a 4x4 just because.

I tried to persuade my wife to go with a 4runner.
The soccer mom in her chose a Highlander. It's very nice, but it's not a 4runner.
Then I thought I'd just go ahead and buy a 4runner for myself, but I need a truck.
    Sooo......Tacoma get's delivered tomorrow. :taco:
