Hi everyone. Just put a deposit down on a silver '08 4X4 standard-cab. I'm pretty excited about it. I owned a similar truck back in '89 for a year or so before having to sell it which I did with regret at the time, needed something with more passenger hauling capacity. Now I've got that covered and am just getting the truck purely for me.

Thank you for the welcome, I'm looking forward to learning more. I won't pick up my pickup for about a week, the dealership is ordering in the trailer hitch, grill-guard and side bars and I'm going to wait rather than having to run it back when the stuff trickles in.

I have long preferred the standard cab. I like the shorter wheel-base and prefer the 'look' as well, it appears more the way a pickup is supposed to look to me, the way that God intended them to be. :D Not intending to disparage the extended cab versions, they are nice and certainly have their own advantages, but I was simply looking for an economical truck, something kind of bare-bones and basic. Still, with a CD player and AC, it's far more plush than my old '89 was. I'm sure I'm going to love the truck.
